Lake Ammer is a very interesting place for birding, especially in the southbank area, which is identified as EU bird sanctuary and international nature reserve as per the Ramsar convention.

My favorite spots for birding are:

1.) Inland lake at southbank - you get the chance to see a huge variety of waterfowl and waders

2.) Raisting grasslands - home to many rare meadow breeders, such as e.g. the curlew or whinchat 

3.) Aidenried sailing club, offering a nice view into southbank eastern lake, and its waterfowl
